21yo interviewed over perth stabbing: ‘I felt sorry for him’

After several weeks in prison they were released on bail after being charged over the killing of the 25-year-old driver after the chase in the early hours of July 21, 2010.

The teenager’s mother, Lorraine Taylor said they had been told of their arrest in December but it was then that “nothing came of it”.

The couple have two daughters who were living with Ms Taylor in the family home when the boy’s murder was uncovered by the police.

She said the couple were initially told the boy was dead but when they asked why, they were told he was “dying”.

“He was in a coma. I told my children this was not going to happen,” Ms Taylor said.

“[The police] wouldn’t tell us his name. I told them that he was dead. But we didn’t know anything about it.”

As a result, when an officer asked what killed his boy, the boy’s mother was told the police would let her know later.

The boy’s mother, Ms Taylor said she has since had a breakdown and has lost the hope of getting information for her son.

“I just hope we’ll never know what happened to my son,” Ms Taylor said.

She said they had never contacted the parents to try and find out if he was alive.
