No deal on west coast hospital
Mr Turnbull says he can’t agree to any deal for the federal government on the delivery of Western Australian hospitals, saying any new agreement on the state and territory governments needs a better timetable, and an agreement on funding.
He is expected to announce new resources funding figures in the next week or so.

Opposition Leader Bill Shorten said Mr Turnbull had been “shouting from the rooftops about hospital builds and hospital spending” in relation to the hospital on the Gold Coast.
“He’s been complaining about getting nothing done on it,” Mr Shorten said.
Mr Shorten said it was unclear if Mr Turnbull had any understanding of how much the state and territory governments had been putting into the construction of the hospital project, and he was surprised to learn the cost for the project had not been completed yet.
However, he said Mr Turnbull was not saying the Abbott Government had committed to construction, but would instead “invest in the health system”.
“We will invest in the health system of Western Australia,” Mr Shorten said.
WA is also struggling to find $700 million from the Queensland Government to pay back debt.
Senator Sinodinos says the state had to borrow heavily to pay $1.4 billion more in debts for Westpac, the state’s biggest private debt holder.
