Fallen honoured at anzac cove western front commemorations

BROWNEVILLE (The Canadian Press) — A member of Canada’s Armed Forces died in the line of duty last week in the western desert.

Col. Christopher “Buddy” Thompson died while serving with the 1st Royal Canadian Regiment.

The regiment said Thompson died on Thursday when his aircraft collided with a Humvee.

The regiment said Thompson was buried by family in an unmarked grave in Western Camp, Ont. at 5 p.m. on Sunday, flanked by his wife, Col. Elizabeth.

The regiment gospelhitzis also conducting an informal service in Thompson’s memory with families of those killed in the service’s most deadly incidents.

Members of the regiment who have passed away include two former soldiers. The oldest died July 9 in an avalanche while rid바카라ing in the valley of the Vimy Ridge. The last is believed to be still alive.

A statement released by the regiment said Thompson’s death is a loss to the company and also to the soldiers who were on the front lines.
