Govt urged to ratify un disability treaty

MEMBERS of the United Nations G더킹카지노eneral Assembly have been urged to ratify a UN treaty in which disabled citizens are given equal rights to other international workers.

A report by UND students and international students said the treaty, which would set up an international human rights tribunal system to decide cases of disability discrimination, was critical to ensure that all people in the workplace were treated with respect.

“The disability and human rights treaty needs to be ratified so that it can be implemented and respected as an international standard to guide our legal systems, institutions, employment practices and policies,” the UND UND International Students and UND International Graduates Association said in a statement.

According to a United Nations (UN) report from December 2013 that states disabled workers are paid lower wages and worse conditions than their non-disabled counterparts, they are the main reason the rate of global unemployment is twice the rate for workers with disabilities.

A UN treaty would protect disabled workers’ rights by establishing the right to equal pay for equal work and an equal minimum wage, it added.

To reach the UNDP deadline of June 23, the group wrote to the UN Secretary-General더킹카지노, Ban Ki-moon, urging him to “sign a treaty that guarantees that disabled workers are equal in all respects, including pay and working conditions and to initiate efforts to promote this treaty among all m더킹카지노ember countries.”

The UNDP estimates that a million people of international origin are affected by disability discrimination in Canada.
